chenqing_100Since here in the US, the night will be disrupted with fireworks (I'm an animal lover, and while I like the sparkle of professional fireworks in the sky, I loathe the noisy ones that yearly traumatize millions of animals across the country), I decided to find something good in the situation. So, this week's prompt is: signal flare.

Rebuilding journal search again

foxLast night I dreamed I went back to my home town—it was weirdly shrouded in mist, but it came into view just fine at the top of the hill around the corner from my parents' house, the one that always wigged people out the first time they turned right and there it was but never really bothered me to drive down because I grew up going that way almost every day. Anyway then I started passing by buildings that should have been familiar, but they weren't there; the whole place was unrecognizable; I barely knew it at all.
And then I woke up and thought: Well, that was overt.

ranalore posting in chenqing_100Because I completely blanked on it last week, this week's prompt is in honor of Xiazhi, the ancient Chinese celebration of the summer solstice. As expected of its association with the sun, this day represents the peak of Yang energy, and is traditionally associated with light, warmth, and vitality. In the world of MDZS/CQL, with its focus on cultivation, Yang energy of course has additional importance. Feel free to use any aspect of Xiazhi or Yang energy as the inspiration for your drabble.
